Looking Glass Camp.

Due to circumstances beyond our control the Provincial Health Services Authority cut all funding for the 2010 Looking Glass Summer Camp for those with eating disorders. We have been diligently working to find funding and staff but are unable to do so at this late date. It is with deep regrets that we will not be able to offer a camp for the 2010 year. We are disappointed but can assure you we are planning for August 2011. At this time we are offering on-line support groups for adolescents, adults and caregivers that we hope will alleviate some concerns. lookingglass.umeetsupport.com/login

The Looking Glass Foundation Summer Camp is a camp designed to focus on wellness and improved quality of life for adolescents and young women who struggle with eating disorders. This camp has the support from medical experts in the eating disorders field as well as the Provincial Government. This camp is not a cure but rather an opportunity for adolescents and young adults to challenge their belief systems through therapeutic adventures as well as to find companionship with others who struggle with similar issues. Looking Glass provides a physician, nurses, dietitians and other auxiliary support, as we believe it is important everyone feels safe and well cared for.

The 2009 camp was held August 23th to 30th at the Loon Lake Forestry Camp in Maple Ridge, B.C.
