Honouring the Journey

The Reflections Scholarship supports students who have lived experience with an eating disorder by helping them pursue their academic and career goals through education. It is awarded in recognition of someone's strength and courage in facing their eating disorder as well as their enthusiasm and tenacity for their chosen academic path and the career they plan to follow.

A total of $12,000 will be awarded in scholarships, including the Elise Skoglund Bursary of $1,500. Scholarships will be awarded to multiple recipients, with individual amounts ranging from $1,000 - $3,000.

Before this application, I had personally never written about my recovery, so this has been an excellent experience for me to use my voice, share my story and reflect on how far I have come in hopes of inspiring others to do the same. Everyone's experience and timing of progress will be different but knowing that recovery is possible and that you are not alone in what you are feeling is a message that I will continue to spread.
