The Looking Glass Foundation Scholarship program awards several thousand dollars annually to individuals who have received or are currently receiving treatment for an eating disorder, and who are ready for academic pursuit. There are two scholarship categories:
Rise Above - Volunteer & Community Service Scholarship:
The Looking Glass Foundation awards this scholarship to someone who is making a difference through volunteering, community service, and leadership. This scholarship is our way of recognizing individuals who rise above and give back in a way that is meaningful to the individual. Additionally, recipients must demonstrate a strong need for financial assistance in order to achieve their academic goals.
Pursue Your Passion Scholarship - Academic and Career Path Scholarship:
The Looking Glass Foundation awards this scholarship in recognition of someone's passion, tenacity, and enthusiasm for their chosen academic path and the career they plan to follow. Additionally, recipients must demonstrate a strong need for financial assistance in order to achieve their academic goals.
Please note that The Looking Glass Foundation awards $10, 000 in total, which will be split among recipients. Additionally, one scholarship winner will also receive the Elise Skoglund Bursary of $1,000.
Elise Skoglund Bursary - $1000
The Elise Skoglund Bursary is funded by Elise, her family and friends. It was created to honor and recognize Elise’s own triumphs and setbacks in her struggles with the disease; as well as her many contributions to the wellness of others through her involvement in the Eating Disorder peer support community. The bursary is linked to the Persevere Scholarship and is intended to provide additional financial support and recognition for individuals pursuing academic goals.
