We are proud to celebrate this year’s Reflections Scholarship recipients! Each year, the Looking Glass Foundation honors individuals who have faced the adversity of eating disorders and are now courageously pursuing their academic dreams.
This year’s applications were truly remarkable. Each story showcased extraordinary resilience, determination, and the unwavering strength it takes to overcome challenges and step confidently into the future. Selecting recipients was incredibly difficult because every applicant demonstrated such remarkable courage on their journey to recovery and higher education. We are honored to congratulate our 2025 Scholarship Recipients and invite you to read their reflections on their academic goals and the meaning this award holds in their lives.
If you didn’t apply this year, there’s still hope! The next application period opens in Spring 2026. Previous applicants who weren’t selected are encouraged to apply again. We can’t wait to hear your stories of perseverance and ambition.

“This isn’t like other awards where it’s all “you have good grades, let’s give you some money”. Rather, it’s a beautiful and personal acknowledgement, taking to heart the hardships I endured, honoring the ambitions and dreams that I held onto during the toughest times, and reminding me of how far I have come—how I have overcome an ED—and that if I had the strength to do that, who knows what the future has in store?”
Naomi, Bachelor of Science in Nursing at McMaster University

I am inspired to use my experiences and talents to positively impact my community, just as you have impacted me. Thank you again for your support, your generosity, and your investment in my future. I am truly honoured and grateful to be a recipient of the Looking Glass Scholarship.”

“All thanks to your generosity, I feel seen and recognized for overcoming all the struggles that made me the person I am today. This scholarship not only eases a lot of the financial challenges that come with university, but also makes me feel more confident stepping into a new chapter of my life knowing I was able to overcome something I deemed impossible when I was 14, and use my own collected set of knowledge and skills to completely benefit my life.”
Sophia, Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at The University of Victoria
