Our inaugural Path of Reflection, presented by Conconi Growth Partners, was recently featured in the North Shore News, highlighting the importance of connection, community and accessible support for those affected by eating disorders.

The article spoke with our Director of Development & Communications, Sarah Clark, about the barriers many individuals face when seeking support and how eating disorders can go unrecognized or misunderstood based on physical appearance.

“Many individuals that we have within our programs struggle getting access and services because their eating disorder has gone either undiagnosed or misdiagnosed just because of the way they physically appear. So that can feel really isolating.”

— Sarah Clark, Looking Glass Foundation

Path of Reflection was created to help challenge these misconceptions and reduce isolation while bringing our community together in a welcoming environment.

That message will come to life on September 19, when our community gathers at Capilano River Regional Park for the first-ever Path of Reflection. Participants will be able to choose between a 2 km or 3 km hike, with reflection prompts and meaningful messages placed along the trails to encourage moments of connection and reflection.

The event will also raise funds to support Looking Glass Foundation programs, including peer support, counselling and scholarships, helping make support more accessible to people affected by eating disorders.

We’re grateful to North Shore News and reporter Abby Luciano for helping share the story behind Path of Reflection and the importance of making eating disorder support more visible and accessible.
